About Us
Founded in 2026, BRAID was born out of an imperative to make hazard and risk science accessible, relevant, and actionable not just to help clients transfer risk but also to help them grow their operational continuity. Our founder, Delphine Fitzenz started the company with a simple yet powerful idea: to co-create bespoke solutions for businesses and local authorities that are as unique as the clients we serve.
As we hone in on specific client needs, we will leverage our standing in the research community and with public institutions and our own capacity to collaborate to science projects to help steer science advances. Our goal is to foster long-term partnerships built on trust, integrity, and a shared vision of what success means in a changing world. We are dedicated to providing actionable strategies and support that drive real, measurable impact.
Our Team

Delphine Fitzenz, PhD
Founder & CEO
Delphine is a geophysics engineer by training, who got her PhD from the Federal Institute of Technology of Zurich (ETHZ) studying how earthquake fault systems work. After 10 years in academia, she joined a risk model vendor. Over the last 13 years, she has helped (re-)insurers understand the hazard assessment science process, assess their risk, plan their underwriting guidelines and assess their solvency requirement by contributing R&D to risk models and by communicating with the risk transfer industry. She has also represented the industry as users of publicly-funded hazard projects and I have been a scientific and technical advisor to National Seismic Hazard Mapping projects. Her science, business, and risk transfer experience, at the public/private interface, has made her ever more sentitive to the protection gap and the need for anticipatory action and operational continuity, supported by fit-for-purpose models and organizational culture.
