Meet Delphine Fitzenz — R&D Partner and Continuity Strategist for Businesses and Communities

Hi! I am an international hazard and risk expert with both academic and industry experience.

I am convinced that, just like one can't describe the growth of a child between age 10 and 18 only by a height increase, growth, for companies and communities, is not a number. To me, growth indicators include 1) a solid knowledge of values and operations (self-awareness), 2) the awareness of the hazards that can impact us and 3) the corresponding plans for 'operational continuity'.

I work with entrepreneurs and public officials: they bring their deep knowledge of their operations, I bring insights into the hazards their businesses and communities are exposed. Together we sort through the science and data to find the most relevant information needed to build a robust, adaptive strategy to ensure operational continuity all stakeholders can count on. I am also an R&D partner in the domain of (earthquake) hazard and risk.

You're not here for cookie-cutter advice or off-the-shelf solutions. You want grounded guidance and fit-for-purpose tools created with you, from your needs and for your values. That’s where I come in.

What exactly do you do?

I’m a hazard researcher and risk modeler passionate about continuity and robustness, from businesses to communities. I work with founders, agency owners, and local authorities to help them with hazard and risk modeling or with continuity planning with clarity and direction — they know their business or their communities, I bring in the science and the risk industry experience.

How do I know if this is right for me?

You want to account for complexity, not drown in it. We find together what’s relevant to your operations so we can bring to you actionable insight. Then you make your decisions.

Do I need to have it all figured out first?

Not at all. Most of my clients come to me in a messy middle. We figure it out together — that’s the point of working with a team vs buying off-the-shelf solutions.

What’s the first step?

Book a short call. We’ll talk about what you’re facing, what you want, and whether I’m the right fit to help get you there.

Hazard Expert

You are a risk manager, a model vendor, an insurer or a broker and you want to

  • Assess the hazard models you are currently using against current research

Know your Hazard and Explore Others

You are a business executive or a risk manager and you are considering either of the following: 1) adding suppliers or 2) developing clients or 3) adding a campus or factory in a new country:

  • You can ask for the Discovery and Comparison package, where the hazard and risk you are familiar with gets compared to those in the new country of interest.

Hazard and Adaptation around the World

You are a public risk manager for a local authority (city, group of cities, region, etc) and you want to learn strategies from other parts of the world

  • You can ask for the Discovery and Comparison package, Adaptation option, where the hazard and risk of your locality gets compared to key localities around the world and their adaptation strategies are described.

R&D Partnership

You are a public research institution or a local authority and you are looking for an R&D partner to answer regional, national or European funding calls in the domain of Hazard and Risk Modeling, Risk Management and Adaptation, Anticipatory Action financing

  • The Partnership section is for you

Seminars and classes

You are a CSR or Training program director or a business or engineering school curriculum director (or a community organizer) and you want to introduce notions of natural hazards, risk modeling and the risk transfer economy and the notions of resilience vs operational continuity

  • Ask for the Seminar and course catalog

Continuity corner

You are an elected official, a business executive, a risk manager and you want to understand how your operations are exposed to hazards. Crucial aspects like time scale and spatial scale of operations vs hazards can be taken into account. Anticipatory actions can be explored that can strengthen the foundations of resilience but maybe more importantly, the foundations of operational continuity.

When Growing means Mastering Operational Continuity. Is Your Business Built to Adapt?

The world moves faster than ever — and most businesses are stuck reacting: to climate change, to geopolitical forces, to changes to the rules of insurability and funding. Whether you're running an agency, a town or region, or leading a growing product team, one thing is clear: what worked before won’t carry you forward. Sustainability is key, and not just for the planet.

Growth without robustness today is not enough. It takes clarity, adaptability, and decisions driven by science and data. But don't worry: you don't have to learn the science. You bring what you know about your business, and together we weave these threads together to empower you to create your adaptive strategies for operational continuity.

That’s what BRAID helps you build — informed and intentional robustness for your business.
